The two workshops in this series will introduce participants to an online resource developed by the FIC, "Architecting Online Courses,"  that will guide our discussions.  A Deeper Dive Instructional Guide (DDIG), the "Architecting Online Courses" DDIG was conceptualized and built with significant input from associate professor Matt Fajkus (School of Architecture), whose Tree House project (image below) inspired our approach to understanding online course design and delivery.

Please plan to attend both workshops as they tie closely together. RSVP for both sessions!

Part 2: March 8, 2019

How should we manage and evaluate a course that has been designed for online or hybrid delivery? In this second of two workshops, we will explore methods of assessment consistent with the special features of online/hybrid learning, and develop a plan for managing and evaluating your course. We will identify strategies to help both you and your students to stay organized and to manage your workloads. We will use a comprehensive online/hybrid learning checklist and discuss a midterm evaluation form to help you evaluate your course redesign process before, during, and after the initial course offering. We will use the checklist to produce a course redesign plan to guide you during the remainder of the process. Finally, we will discuss next steps in drafting a syllabus and options for further development of the course and explore “Architecting Online Courses,” an online resource that the FIC has designed to support your ongoing work.
