Inclusive Teaching & Learning Symposium
All-day event
CLA 1.302B

The Inclusive Teaching & Learning Symposium is a bi-annual event designed to bring together instructors and staff from all over campus in dialogue, share their work and expertise, and learn about/reflect on what it means to continually commit to an inclusive mindset in higher education. For our third symposium, we welcome Anna Jackson (MSSW, Alpinista Consulting) and Shane Whalley (LMSW, Steve Hicks School of Social Work, Daring Dialogues Consulting), as they immerse participants in Liberating Structures, or “easy-to-learn microstructures that enhance relational coordination and trust, and quickly foster lively participation in groups of any size, making it possible to truly include everyone.” Whether you give educational workshops around campus, teach small discussion classes or large lecture courses, or just want to think about how to create more inclusive interactions among your colleagues in your department or center, come join us as we learn alternative ways of engaging everyone in discussions, and why/how these strategies promote more equitable relationships in our classrooms and beyond.
