Blended Learning Series, Part Three: Staying Organized and Evaluation Blended Courses

How do we effective integrate learning technologies into our teaching practices and help students succeed?  The three workshops in this series will introduce participants to the foundational concepts of blended learning and showcase several strategies for designing courses and assignments.

How should we manage and evaluate a course that has been designed for blended delivery? In this final workshop, we will explore methods of assessment consistent with the special features of blended learning, and develop a plan for managing and evaluating your course. We will identify strategies to help both you and your students to stay organized and to manage your workloads. We will use a comprehensive blended learning checklist and discuss a midterm evaluation form to help you evaluate your course redesign process before, during, and after the initial course offering. We will use the checklist to produce a course redesign plan to guide you during the remainder of the process. Finally, we will discuss next steps in drafting a syllabus and options for further development of the course.
