Learn the characteristics of an effective teaching statement —including what search committees look for —and begin drafting/refining your statement to vibrantly convey your teaching values and the instructional choices you make to help students achieve learning goals. This session is the fifth session in the spring Teaching Preparation Series, which will allow participants to observe, practice, receive feedback on, and reflect upon classroom teaching techniques.

To learn more and apply, visit http://bit.ly/spring20tps. After applying, applicants will be enrolled in the Teaching Preparation Series Canvas course. Once enrolled in the Canvas course, participants may reserve a spot in each session by clicking on the Teaching Preparation Series calendar and finding the appropriate session. The number of seats left will be displayed (if available).

Participants who complete multiple sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion that acts as a credential demonstrating your investment in professional development to future employers.  Complete 3 sessions for a Teaching Preparation Certificate; complete 7 sessions and submit a qualifying Teaching Statement for an Advanced Teaching Preparation Certificate. Please feel free to contact Laura Struve at struve@austin.utexas.edu with further questions.  We look forward to working with you!
