*Postponed: Student well-being: How do I promote students' mental health in my teaching?
5 to 6:15 p.m.

Update, 3/17: We are working with campus partners to determine a new method of delivery for our Teaching Preparation Workshop sessions. Please check Canvas Announcements for detailed information about session makeups or offerings for future semesters.

This session will describe the UT Counseling and Mental Health Center's Well-being in Learning Environments project that collaborates with faculty to support student mental health. During the session, we will learn about and practice various wellness strategies, including expressing gratitude, developing a growth mindset, and being self-compassionate. This is the fourteenth session in the spring Teaching Preparation Series, which will allow participants to observe, practice, receive feedback on, and reflect upon classroom teaching techniques.

To learn more and apply, visit http://bit.ly/spring20tps. After applying, applicants will be enrolled in the Teaching Preparation Series Canvas course. Once enrolled in the Canvas course, participants may reserve a spot in each session by clicking on the Teaching Preparation Series calendar and finding the appropriate session. The number of seats left will be displayed (if available).

Participants who complete multiple sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion that acts as a credential demonstrating your investment in professional development to future employers.  Complete 3 sessions for a Teaching Preparation Certificate; complete 7 sessions and submit a qualifying Teaching Statement for an Advanced Teaching Preparation Certificate. Please feel free to contact Laura Struve at struve@austin.utexas.edu with further questions.   We look forward to working with you!
