This will be a combined session with colleagues from the University of Buffalo.

Learning in teams can be powerful when it’s done well, but can be frustrating and even counterproductive when left to chance. How can you make sure students are prepared and motivated to engage their peers when they come to class? How can you capitalize on the social resources you have in your class to help students tackle tough issues together? This interactive two-part series will help you answer these questions with your own colleagues. If you’re familiar with Team-Based Learning, you will recognize Part 1 as the Readiness Assurance Process and Part 2 (on November 10) as Application Activities -- you are encouraged to attend and share your experiences with us. If you’re new to this approach, come see which pieces or principles would be useful in your class.
