Discussion can be an effective classroom tool to reach a variety of course goals. In this asynchronous session in canvas, you will identify course goals you may achieve through discussion, consider instructor anxieties regarding discussion, learn tools to facilitate effective discussions, and gain knowledge about a range of discussion schemes and strategies. The session opens in Canvas on Fri. 10/16 and participants have until  Wed. 10/28 to participate in session and completed required components.

To learn more and self-enroll in the fall Canvas site, visit http://bit.ly/fall20tps. Once you have joined the Canvas course, you can register for a session using the Canvas Calendar function. If a session is full, it will not appear on your calendar.

Participants who complete multiple sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion that acts as a credential demonstrating your investment in professional development to future employers.  Complete 3 sessions and upload a qualifying reflection for a Teaching Preparation Certificate; complete 7 sessions and submit a qualifying Teaching Statement for an Advanced Teaching Preparation Certificate. Please feel free to contact Laura Struve at struve@austin.utexas.edu with further questions.  We look forward to working with you!
