Teaching Preparation Series, Teaching as Research: How do apply a scholarly lens to my teaching?

Event Status
Scheduled

For graduate students, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) projects can result in peer-reviewed publications and presentations, enhanced pedagogical expertise, and beneficial short and long-term collaborations with faculty mentors. But what is the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning? Join us for an introductory SoTL workshop to learn more about the “what, why, and how” of completing research focused on teaching practices and improving student learning within and across disciplines.

To learn more and self-enroll in the Canvas site, visit https://bit.ly/2021FallTPS. Once you have joined the Canvas course, you can register for a session using the RSVP link either in the module for the session or in the calendar.

Participants who complete multiple sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion that acts as a credential demonstrating your investment in professional development to future employers.  Complete 3 sessions and upload a qualifying reflection for a Teaching Preparation Certificate; complete 7 sessions and submit a qualifying Teaching Statement for an Advanced Teaching Preparation Certificate. Please feel free to contact Michelle Gaston (michelle,gaston@austin.utexas.edu) or Katherine Sadek (katherine.sadek@austin.utexas.edu) with further questions.  We look forward to working with you!
