Heidi Toprac has been a member of the Finance department faculty at the McCombs School of Business since January, 2003. She specializes in teaching finance concepts to undergraduates, reaching more than 26,000 students during her tenure. She recently won the University of Texas Alumni Association’s Texas 10 Award, which honors professors that alumni believe “have made a lasting impact on their lives.”
In addition to teaching, Toprac serves as the course coordinator for the 30 sections of FIN 357 Business Finance that are offered by McCombs each year, and manages the McCombs undergraduate internship program. Her PTF project will focus on providing personal financial literacy education to University undergraduates.
Prior to joining UT, Toprac spent twenty years in a variety of corporate finance, accounting, and ethics-related roles. She has worked across several industries—including retail, travel, and tech—and on three different continents. Toprac holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas. When she is not at work, Toprac enjoys reading, movies, gardening, biking, and running (well, she actually hates running, but she does it anyway).
