Technology-Enhanced Learning Collaborative: Faculty Teaching Online

This panel will explore elements of teaching online courses at UT, specifically student engagement. Many of these faculty members are new to online teaching, and they will share examples of lessons learned.

  • Katie Tackett: Dr. Tackett is the Undergraduate Advisor for the Department of Special Education. She oversees internship and student teaching experiences, coordinates coursework, manages university facilitators, and serves as the cohort coordinator for all special education preservice teachers. In addition, she teaches online courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Steve Lundy: Dr. Lundy is a Lecturer in the Department of Classics who studies the intellectual and cultural history of the late Roman Republic.  He teaches synchronous, massive online courses through LAITS.
  • Ginny Catania: Dr. Catania is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geological Sciences.  Her research involves understanding ice sheet and glacier changes both from natural and climate forced variability. She is teaching introductory online courses in the Jackson School.
  • Elizabeth Lewis: Dr. Lewis is disability anthropologist whose current research examines family experiences with undiagnosed disabilities.  She works in the Texas Center for Disabilities Studies and teaches online courses in Social Work.
