The Faculty Innovation Center (FIC) offers a semester-long program to support cohorts of faculty and graduate students through a self-paced, moderated process of designing or revising online courses.  All instructors are candidates to learn methods for online learning environments. This experience will be ideal for those that have been asked to teach these types of courses or who will need development for teaching future courses.

Participants will be guided through a set of five modules focused on different elements of online course design. Each module will include an interactive exercise that, upon submission, will receive extensive and timely feedback from FIC staff members. In addition, there will be two live, synchronous sessions over the course of the fall 2017 semester.

Module titles:

  1. Introduction: Map the Big Picture
  2. Assessment: Check for Learning
  3. Content: Present Information
  4. Connections: Get Students Engaged and Build Community
  5. Integration: Put It All Together to Support Students

Successful completion of all modules in the course enables participants to apply for a certificate issued by the Faculty Innovation Center. Registration is now open through September 25 so sign up today! The cohort will launch on October 2 and wrap up on December 8.
